(General Pervaiz Musharraf)

General Pervez Musharraf was Pakistan’s 10th President, leading the country from 2001 to 2008. He came to power in 1999 after removing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a military coup. Musharraf worked on modernizing Pakistan, improving the economy, and supporting the global “War on Terror” after the 9/11 attacks. His time in power saw progress in development but also faced criticism over democracy and judicial issues. In 2008, he resigned to avoid impeachment and later lived in exile until his death in 2023.
